On December 29th, Uranus turns direct at 20 degrees Aries, after being retrograde since July 30th. Uranus is a planet of individuality, freedom loving and rebellious. Aries is of course the warrior, representing initiative and independence. We are likely to see people and situations that have been held back and suppressed during the retrograde period suddenly being released and moving ahead swiftly. Those feelings of being trapped or stuck will disappear or at least lessen for those striving to express their uniqueness, and they should be able to go forward now!

Thrown into this equation is the opposition from Jupiter in Libra. There will be three exact oppositions over the coming year – first on December 26th at 20 degrees, then March 3 2017 at 22 degrees and September 29 2017 at 27. Jupiter is the planet of abundance and generosity at its best, but in a position of opposition can also come across as overblown and excessive. Libra is the sign of partnership, balance and fairness. Jupiter in Libra wants to be sociable, gracious and generous, and strives for harmony in relationships.

When Jupiter in Libra opposes Uranus in Aries, this striving for harmonious partnership may clash with the Uranus in Aries need for independence and freedom. Especially with Uranus newly released from the constraints of the retrograde period, some relationships and partnerships may feel the strain. It may be important during this period to be willing to work together to find and agree upon the right mix of individuality and togetherness that will work for both parties. Hello, and welcome to Open Door Astrology! I’m Beth, and I have launched this site as part of a natural extension out of a lifelong interest in and practice of astrology and all things esoteric. I have been studying Astrology along with Tarot, Kabbalah, and Magick for over 25 years, and I believe that knowledge of how celestial happenings can influence us at a personal level can bring tremendous insights into our life journeys and how to make the most of them.

Although I have studied astrology for quite some time, it was only about six years ago that I became acquainted with the branch known as Evolutionary Astrology. During this time I was experiencing a number of painful Pluto and Saturn transits that left me wondering about the true purpose of my life, and whether I was accomplishing what I had come to Earth intending to do. The more I dove into this fascinating study, the more I realized that some of the patterns throughout my life were clearly shown in my natal chart, and many of the issues I had struggled with seemed to be exactly what was intended for me to live out and work to resolve during this lifetime.

I believe that Astrology provides us with a very useful and detailed roadmap for our lives and how best to live them. The stars can give us a wonderful understanding of the potentials for growth and soul evolution throughout our lives; however, it is up to each individual to make use of this guidance as they are willing and able to do so. My purpose with this site is to help others with their life journeys, using Astrology as a tool for better knowledge and deeper understanding of the significance of each event and choice.
